Taste the Borough

Embrace the new spring season by getting involved with Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council’s food initiative, ‘Taste the Borough’, to entice locals to delve into the array of high quality eateries on their doorstep, throughout the month of March. 
‘Taste The Borough’ will serve up a selection of tasty treats and eating experiences in venues across the Borough and everyone is encouraged to try something (or somewhere new, embracing the onset of spring with an unmissable feast for the senses.

Be Part of It

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is offering specialist support and funding to 35 hospitality businesses including food and drink producers to take part in Taste The Borough with the aim of assisting you in developing new experiences or enhancing your existing offering.

Participating businesses can apply for £1,350 (ex. VAT) of support which can be used towards the development or running costs of the experience. .


To be eligible you must:

  • Be based in the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council area; Operate in the Tourism, Hospitality or food / drink production sectors;

  • Be able to facilitate bookings / ticket sales directly;

  • Commit to take part in a short evaluation exercise; and

  • Agree to comply with all necessary Covid 19 Public Health Requirements. The Council's ability to deliver the programme is dependent on the future Covid19 outlook and therefore the Council will not be held accountable or liable for the cancellation of the programme or any loss of business or costs arising from the cancellation.
