Holly House Garden

Fancy a visit to a beautiful country garden in Co. Antrim? Organising a party with a difference? Wish to have engagement or wedding photographs in the gardens?

Holly House Gardens are open to groups or individuals for garden visits, parties and photographs by appointment. Tea/coffee available for groups up to 25 people in our tea rooms.

Holly House Gardens comprise of 6 acres of gardens and woodland in a rural setting, which have been created from farmland over the last 21 years. The woodlands are mainly native species that are in keeping with the surrounding environment and were planted between 1999 and 2002. Large trees were already present along the hedgerows with one magnificent sycamore estimated to be at least 300 years old. Mature woodland walks link parts of the garden. There are various garden styles which contain a wide range of plants and which are managed differently according to their cultivation and flowering periods. Traditional herbaceous borders provide colour and interest for much of the year as well as areas of flowering spring bulbs. Water lilies are grown in two natural ponds.

In midsummer the iris garden is in flower followed by late summer colour from the long south-facing border. Visitors may enjoy the wooden carved and metal sculptures.
In contrast to the tradition gardens there is a hard landscaped area with patio and dining area, ponds and a stainless steel pergola.

You do not have to be a gardener to enjoy a visit to the gardens. From water gardens to flowering bulbs and wood sculptures we hope that there is something of interest to all visitors.
