V36 - at the Valley is situated beside Valley Leisure Centre, the new attraction will provide a great opportunity for local clubs and individuals from different backgrounds to participate in sport, recreation and art-based activities. This new shared space development, which received £3.58 million funding under the EU PEACE III Programme will host many events for the Borough, offering fun for all the family!

V36 is an exciting new Council facility consisting of a civic linear park, adventure play area and a floodlit third generation pitch suitable for football, rugby and Gaelic sports.

This project received £3.58 million under the EU PEACE lll Programme and has been designed to encourage people from all backgrounds to come together through sport, recreation and arts-based.

 

What is at V36?

V36 includes the following facilities: 

  • A full size floodlit third generation pitch suitable for football, rugby and Gaelic sports
  • A civic linear park including event spaces, open space, scenic walking routes and installations of both public and community art
  • A unique children’s adventure play area
  • A picnic area
     
Getting to V36?

You can access the facilities in the following ways:

  • Via the main vehicle entrance at Church Road, opposite Kentucky Fried Chicken.
  • Via the pedestrian entrance from the Valley Leisure Centre car park at the duck pond.
  • Via the pathway from the upper Valley Park, adjacent to the  grass pitches.
  • Via the pedestrian entrance from Longlands Avenue.
Car Parking:

A new car park has been developed as part of the facilities; this is accessible via the main vehicle entrance on Church Road.

In order to create a pedestrian friendly space, there will be a vehicle barrier in place to ensure vehicles cannot advance beyond the car park area. Only permitted vehicles such as the emergency services will have access beyond this point.

Additional car parking is available in the main car park at the front of the Valley Leisure Centre or at the car park on O’Neill Road.
 

How Do I Book The 3G Pitch?

Bookings for the 3G pitch can be made by contacting Valley Leisure Centre on Tel 028 9086 1211.

What Is The Price to Book The 3G Pitch?

The cost for one of the full size football pitches is £60* per hour. The cost to hire the full size Gaelic or rugby pitch (2 x football pitches) is £90* per hour.

Bookings can also be taken for ½ of a football pitch. For prices please contact Valley Leisure Centre on Tel: 028 9086 1211

*Please note pitch prices are subject to Council approval.

Can I Make a Block Booking For The 3G pitch?

Expressions of interest are currently being taken for block bookings on the 3G pitch. 

Can I Book The Event Space at V36?

The event space is available for individuals/organisations to hire to host an event.

Are Dogs Allowed at V36?

Under the Dog Control Orders, dogs are permitted in the following areas:

On leads: Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times when in and around the V36 facility.

Off leads: Dogs are only permitted off leads at the upper end of the Valley Park.

Dogs are not permitted within the boundaries of the adventure play area or the 3G pitch.

Opening Times:

The Civic Linear Park will be open from 6am – 10pm every day.

Outside of these hours the gates at Church Road and Longlands Avenue will be locked.

Please note the Play Area will be opened and closed at the following times:

April - October:            9am – 9pm

November - March:     9am – dusk or 6pm
