Make your own Tote Bag


Spend a relaxed and creative day learning how to use a sewing machine while making your own lined tote bag to take home.

This friendly beginner workshop is perfect for anyone wanting to build confidence using a sewing machine in a calm and supportive environment.

During the workshop you will:
• Learn the basics of using a sewing machine
• Practice simple sewing techniques and stitching skills
• Cut, pin and construct your own tote bag
• Explore fabric, colour and design choices
• Leave with a handmade tote bag and new sewing skills.

You will need your own sewing machine and materials listed below

· Outer fabric – 2 fat quarters (size - see below)
· Lining – 2 fat quarters (size - see below)
· Handles – 1 fat quarter (size - see below)
· Fusible Fleece Batting or fusible interlining (This is optional but will add strength to the bag)
· Sharp scissors
· Measuring tape
· Pins
· Fabric marker / pencil
· Thread (to match or compliment fabric) Materials can be purchased online at Amazon, Craftswoman fabric store in Carrickfergus, Dunelm Mill, Hobbycraft etc – Fat Quarter size is approximately 56 x 46 cm

Please note there are no café facilities onsite, please bring your own food /drinks
